The Button Up Shirt (Style Me Friday Link Up) OOTD

Top: Charlotte Russe (similar) / Jeans: Old Navy / Shoes: Steve Madden (on clearance now!) / Bag: The Limited
Necklace: Charming Charlie / Earrings: Asos / Lip: MAC Candy Yum Yum with a pink E.L.F gloss over it
TGIF! Friday at work means a laid back day in the office where I can wear jeans. I kept my look work appropriate with a button up top and pretty jewelry. To show a little personality (and a mood boost whenever I looked at my feet) I completed my outfit with a metallic shoe. Might I add, these Steve Madden beauties were only $15 bucks, down from $80! I know this phrase is played out now, but #WINNING! :)

This week I'm linking up again with The Fashionista Next Door. The inspiration for this week's Style Me Friday link-up is the button up shirt.

OOTD: Bodycon & Combat Boots

Have you ever been in a "dress" kind of mood where you don't care what the weather is like,  or what you have planned for the day, you gon' wear that dress dog'gone it ?!?
(side note: Please tell me I'm not the only one who remembers that famous Fantasia quote "I'm gon' get that GED dog'gone it" from her reality show)

Well yeah, this was one of those days, but luckily for me the weather was pretty nice, and sunny.  I bought this dress from ASOS about a year ago, but never wore it (well, actually I wore it once as a top) because everyone had it--on the blogs, in the clubs, I might have even seen it in a random music video once.  Now that the appeal has died down and the dress has long been sold out, I
pulled it out to wear over Easter weekend.  Normally I don't wear my combat boots with dresses, but I was participating in an Easter egghunt where money was involved so I had to be prepared!  I actually like the look of taking a sexy, bodycon dress and adding some edge with a pair of flat boots and an oversized top.

White Jeans: Look 3 (of 3)

Blazer: Old (TJ Maxx) / Shirt: A.N.A.  / Jeans: Bisou Bisou / Necklace: Charming Charlie / Flats: French Follies

For the third and final look of my white jeans series, I took a break from my heels and rocked my white jeans with a pair of flats.  I've had these cute little striped flats for a couple of years now, but this is my first time pairing them with a striped shirt! I guess this is my first baby step towards full out print mixing...Anyway, this is just a comfortable yet pulled together look that is relaxed enough for the weekend, but can also work for casual Fridays at the office!

Hope you enjoyed these 3 looks! Just because I'm done with the series does not mean you will not see these jeans again on the blog...actually, don't be surprised if you see them really soon :)

White Jeans: Look 1 (of 3)

White Jeans are going to be a staple for me during the Spring. I love jeans and bright colors so I'm going to swap my dark denims for a lighter hue this season.  White jeans are so versatile, and just look so clean and fresh paired with anything.

Blazer: Bisou Bisou / Jeans: Bisou Bisou / Tank: Old / Heels: Fergie "Olivia" / Clutch: Steve Madden (similar

Over the next few weeks I will be showing off three of my favorite looks featuring my newest pair of white jeans.  For this look, I paired my white jeans with an on-trend floral blazer.

Casual Outfit & Goddess Twists

Jacket: Old Navy / Shirt: TJ Maxx / Jeans: Bisou Bisou / Boots: Steve Madden

This outfit was just something to throw on to go shopping.  Out of pure laziness To give my hair a rest from a week of twist-outs with nightly re-twisting, I decided to style my hair in goddess braids (also known as milkmaid braids) made famous by the fabulous Tracee Ellis Ross.   Then I realized I can't braid, so I settled for goddess twists.  This style took all of 5 minutes, and with my big earrings and a little bit of blush, I was good to go!

Floral Pants & A Wash-N-Go

Today was a nice sunny day so I did something I haven't done in months...wore a wash-n-go! Usually my go-to hair style during warm weather is a wash-n-go puff, but this year I will try something different to because I do not need the single strand knots that I get from wearing this style too often.

Denim Shirt: JCP / Coral Shirt: Mossimo / Leggings: Dorothy Perkins (love these!)  / Flats: Mossimo

On another note, I pulled out my floral leggings to link up with The Fashionista Next Door's latest Style Me Friday link up  inspired by Jessica Alba. Sundays are always my day to run errands, so I kept my look casual and comfortable.

*PS: Kohl's has some cute patterned leggings on sale! Check these out:

Layering With Style

When you have a statement coat, it's easy to get lazy with your outfit underneath. After all, it is cold out so you're going to keep that fab coat everywhere you go, right? Not so! I get cold and hot easily so layering is my best friend--at work I cannot even count how many times I take off and put on my cardigan throughout the day. It is important to make sure that you still look presentable (and fly!) no matter how many layers you are wearing.

For this outfit, I started off with a basic black on black outfit (accented with a chunky gold chain-- Nino Brown style! lol)

I added a red bomber jacket for warmth...

...and finished the look with a colorful scarf.

Coat: Kenneth Cole (also comes in yellow!) / Turtleneck: H&M / Jeans: Bisou Bisou (similar) / Boots: NYLA / Scarf: Asos / Handbag: Steve Madden

Valentine's Day OOTD

I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day that was full of love! My honey surprised me with a great gift (none of that flowers & mixed heart shaped candy business) and took me to a nice Italian restaurant for dinner. I had planned to wear a sassy and sweet little black lace dress, but at the last minute I switched to this animal print wrap dress from BCBG. In the spirit of Valentine's Day, I finished off the look with a red lip and red pumps.

My hair is a styled in a twist out, but instead of my usual twist pattern I tried this style I saw on The Fiesty House.  I did a trial run the day before Valentine's day and it turned out great, but I couldn't recreate the magic the next day so I ended up having to pin my hair up in he back to create a cute faux bob.
